2016 Papillon Bordeaux Blend $74 A neon indigo pours into the glass and sits with a dark garnet core and a lucid cardinal tint. A boisterous nose escapes the glass with aromatics of ripe boysenberry, kirsch, mixed dark berry pie, California Coastal sagebrush and chaparral. Delectable and plush on the palate, notes of blackberry and sweet black licorice culminate in a finish of dusty tannins and ripe black plum. |

2017 Eight Years in the Desert Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, Syrah Blend $50 Heady aromas of brambly raspberry, black fig, and peppercorn dominate; time in the glass exposes more - dark chocolate, fennel, and High Sierra forest floor. The palate is lush and opulent with blackberries, dark plums, and currants. More flavors add to the quality of the blend - a visceral minerality and fresh Herbs de Provence. Fully integrated with puckering tannins, the wine bows out with finesse. |

2016 Firepit Red Red Blend $33 The 2016 rendition of Firepit opens with oodles of blackberry, peppercorn, and cinnamon spice, in addition to aromas of dried grass and late summer lawn clippings. Smooth, velvety tannins and mouth-watering acidity complement the rich flavors of black plum, blueberry, clove, and baker’s chocolate on the palate. That taste of blackberry returns for a long finish. We crafted two separate blends of Firepit in vintage 2016; this release, in the traditional windswept vine label of the Crown Block vineyard, features the time-honored blend that begins with at least 50% Old Vine Merlot to provide soft tannins and ends with a dose of Petite Sirah to intensify the dark fruits. |

2018 Riva Ranch Vineyard Chardonnay Chardonnay $29 Wente's 2018 Riva Ranch Vineyard Chardonnay opens with bold oak aromatics, complemented by rich tropical fruit such as pineapple to white nectarine and sweet baking spices on the palate, finishing with a round mouthfeel. Daffodil, white flower, Asian pear and almond aromas make for a clean and crisp nose in this single-vineyard expression from the pioneering family. It's lively and fresh in flavors of honeydew, pear and sea salt. |
